Great news, Quicksand is track of the day at Garageband.com and you can access the track from here.
Work continues on the new cd. What can we tell you about it so far? Well we're about half way through and it's sounding awesome so far. Fist Through A Wall is coming together and we want to thank Dan, Chris, Bobby and Nigel for lending their voices to Light. They appear on a chant!! Yeah I know! Early days yet but hopefully it's going to turn out sounding as we hoped.
Literally just finished writing lyrics for an acoustic number, possibly the only acoustic track on the cd and it's called No Blade or Bullet and will no doubt feature a lush string arrangement, thats the idea anyway.
Working on a load of ideas both lyrically and musically and I think this next cd will showcase the rocking out side of Falling Nine that has perhaps been slightly hidden in the past. Expect a reworked version of Invisible which is sounding bigger and better than before - the way it should be!

Been well over a month since we last updated so here we go. Work is very much underway on the next Falling Nine record. Currently the band are working on around 8 songs for what will become their first full length cd featuring around 12 songs in total.
Current titles include Light, Fading Away, Fist Through A Wall , Back To Square One and there is even going to be a remixed, remastered and reworked version of Invisible as the band felt it was an awesome song that deserved to be beefed up a bit soundwise.
The songs are very heavy sounding and are influenced by a lot of Hard Rock and Metal bands whilst keeping the melodic sensibility that Falling Nine are known for.

On Facebook? You can now request to become a fan of Falling Nine by heading on over to Falling Nine on Facebook. We hope to see you over there.
In the past month we have been writing and recording music for what will become our next cd, yes that's right, we've started work on it already! Early indications are that it will be a more heavier, rocking affair than you've seen from us before. We're looking at putting out a full length album this time around with between 10-12 songs. That's the plan anyway.
Current songs being worked on are titled Back To Square One, Light and one track featuring a didgeridoo(!!) has a working title of 1810 Onwards. Some big riffs being written and this batch of songs definitely has more of a metal feel to them than before. There will also be a reworking of an old Falling Nine classic, Invisible as we felt that the song deserved a better overall sound to it than it currently has.
Still doing well in the MP3.com Australia Charts too and Quicksand was featured two weeks in a row on the BBC's Introducing with Tom Robinson which was fantastic and thanks to all who voted after the first week to get us back on the air for the second, we were the "clear" winners apparently. Sweeeet!
Tom was impressed with Quicksand and this is what he had to say about it...
"I hope you liked that as much as I did. That's Cardiff's Falling Nine, the duo of David Lydiard and Steve Watts and that track Quicksand comes from their second EP All Paths Divide. And get this if you go to their stunning website you'll find that that 6 track collection is available on cd, postage paid anywhere in the World, absolutely free of charge. Don't take my word for it, just go to Fallingnine.com and see for yourself, fill out a form and they'll send it to you cos they wanna spread the word about their music and that's pretty good as far as I'm concerned"
Lets hope that is the beginning for us and we can push onwards and upwards in the not too distant future.
Some minor news now that hasn't been fully developed or discussed but we are looking into getting a music video done and we'll have more news on that next week for you. Regarding the CD Requests, we've been having some problems with our account, so if you've requested a cd in the past month the chances are that we haven't received your request. If you could resend your details to falling_nine@hotmail.com then we can process it all for you and for anyone who is requesting a cd for the first time, could you also send details to falling_nine@hotmail.com
Bit of a long update this week as we've been quite poor in updating you for the past month. I just want to finish with a couple of cd's that I've been listening to lately and urge you all to check out when you get the chance

Happy New Year
We are rising high in the MP3.com Australia charts. The band are #6 in the Heavy Rock Charts and #8 in Rock. Fear, Quicksand and Memories are all in the top 20 in the Pop Charts whilst The Fall, I Regret and Reverie are in the top 25 of the Rock Charts. So decent placings all round, watch this space for the chart activity.
The BBC are putting on a new show called Introducing with Tom Robinson and have asked for our permission to play Quicksand on their show. We agreed naturally, anything for some airplay! Especially if it spreads the word about Falling Nine
